Day one of the Audacy Beach Festival is low key the best lineup of alternative rock music South Florida has seen all year.
Have you seen the lineup for this show? half-alive, Beach Weather, Jimmy Eat World, BoyWithUke, and Phoenix (are you kidding?). No. It keeps going. The Struts, Jack White and Muse. Boom. All in one day?
And where is this happening? Say what? On the sand? In Fort Lauderdale Beach? The first week of December?
How can you say we don’t live in paradise?
Granted, the first weekend in December in South Florida is absolutely bananas. Miami is ground zero for the world’s art denizens as Art Basel and the 28 satellite Fairs bring in some of the world’s most beautiful scenesters. But, just up the road, a sunny rock-n-roll respite, in Fort Lauderdale, on the beach, we can enjoy some of the world’s best alternative rock music for a cheap price. Tickets for this affair started at around $50 per day. $100 for the 2-day pass. Such a good deal.
Audacy Beach Festival
Last time Phoenix was in South Florida, (a few years ago at the Fillmore theater in Miami), the show sold out. Tickets were like $100 each. Jack White just played Miami a couple of months ago, and he crushed it, and tickets were like $100 each. Muse played South Florida we believe last year at the hockey arena in Sunrise and tickets were more expensive than this.
We can go on and on about this lineup just on Saturday.
Day two of the Audacy Beach Festival (Sunday) is a whole other article: The 1975, Machine Gun Kelly and 10 other bands will wrap up this 2-day trip down the rabbit hole of paradise that we here in South Florida are blessed to call home.
Get ready to bounce around the beach from stage to stage.
You don’t want to miss this festival! It’s the best we get all year, for fans of alternative rock.
