Broken Poet Regional Finalist in NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest

Broken Poet, a South and Central Florida based poet, singer and songwriter, is a finalist in the very prestigious Tiny Desk contest hosted annually by NPR. We are familiar with Broken Poet’s heart-wrenching, whimsical lyrics. We published the collection, also called Broken Poet.

BROKEN POET TINY DESK

NPR’s Tiny Desk is a video series of live concerts hosted by Bob Boilen in Washington D.C. You’ve seen them over the years.

Musicians crammed into a tiny space.

Since its conception in 2008, there have been over 800 artists featured in the uber popular NPR series. To date, Tiny Desk videos on YouTube have surpassed over 2 billion views.

Performer Anderson Paak’s appearance on the series is Tiny Desk Concerts’ most popular video with 32.73 million views (as of 6 April 2019) surpassing (from November 2017) the previous #1 viewed video of T-Pain, seen 14.96 million times. Wh-a-a-t?! Okay.

Pretty much every musician on the planet at some point has crammed themselves into NPR’s tiny Washington studio for the intimate and entertaining concert series.

Makes for a great image in today’s digital era.
