Afrobeta have had a steady live presence since starting in Miami in 2006. They’ve played any venue you can think of throughout South Florida. They’ve jammed everywhere from O Miami’s Poetry in Pajamas at Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, to Piano Slam at the Arsht Center.
This writer spoke to Afrobeta a few years ago during COVID for Miami New Times. That year’s North Beach Social had to be streamed rather than live, and Amador expressed how much she preferred playing for a live audience, “Not being able to interact with the audience will be different. It has been a few years since Afrobeta released their last album Illusion Motel back in 2020. But you can check out what their live show is like right here with the below recording of that 2020 livestream.
