CARABOOM Is a Must-See Show

It is hard to accurately describe CARABOOM, the new Live Arts Miami production by local multimedia artist and show maker Natasha Tsakos.

Part immersive theater, part dance and performance art and part comedy — it’s also a car wash, kind of. It’s poetically scripted but not a narrative. A wacky, sexy, zany, mash-up of madness, CARABOOM is an achievement within an achievement.

The costumes and design are Cirque de Soleil quality.

The choreography is Broadway caliber.

The cast of CARABOOM is a deep, deep roster of local Miami talent sprinkled with homegrown prodigies whom came home. The location of this colorful only-in-Miami event is sublime — it’s literally produced in the Freedom Tower parking lot, on 5th Street in the heart of Downtown.

Filled with suds and a soundtrack of funky biscuits — CARABOOM is a visceral, fast paced, rollicking roller coaster.

According to their press release:

Foam cannons, bubble machines and human water fountains will immerse participants and passengers in a hysterical, splashtick adventure! There are honking concertos, microfiber dancing, awe-inspiring acts and catharsis for everybody.

The only crime of this production is, to be honest, we don’t deserve it. The lack of attendance and abundance of empty seats at the 9pm Friday night show  was mind boggling. It’s hard to say exactly what is happening to Miami Dade College’s cultural affairs programming, but the lack of attendees was a bummer.

Please, for the love of Miami, grab a friend, support this spectacular event and go see CARABOOM live!!

If you go, prepare to dance. Prepare to get wet. And prepare to smile.
