Houndstooth Cottage will be hosting its Cashmere Kitties event at Locust Projects on Saturday, May 24 and Saturday, June 14 from 6-10pm. This is a free all ages event that will feature up to five acts each night.
Cashmere Kitties is a mind-expanding, consciousness-warping satellite music festival, curated by Pocket of Lollipops the posh-punk South Florida outfit made up of husband-wife duo Maitejosune Urrechaga and Tony Kapel, who are also visual artists, authors, and run the Miami based label Houndstooth Cottage. The couple began experimenting with music as part of an audio visual art installation, eventually collaborating on lyrics. On the drums (Kapel) and the bass (Urrechaga) to refine their sound.
Cashmere Kitties is a luxurious psychedelic event that showcases bands from a broad spectrum of genres and age ranges out of the bars and live music venues in Miami and in front of audiences that may not necessarily have had a reason to mingle.
Saturday, May 24’s event will feature performances by Rick Guerre, Big Child, Pocket Of Lollipops, and the one and only Rat Bastard.
Saturday, June 14 will have sets by Holly Hunt, Eternally Fucked, Black Koi Ensemble, and Cloak.
You’ll also be able to check out the opening for Locust Projects LAB MFA artist Parinaz Mghadampour.
