Florida Voter Registration Rules For Dummies — Not Too Late.

Florida Voter Registration Rules

Florida Voter Registration closes Tuesday, October 9th.

It is NOT too late to register.

The General Election is Tuesday, November 6th.

Early voting for the General Election starts Tuesday October 22nd and ends Sunday November 4th at 7pm.

But first you must register. After October 9th, it will be too late.

Register to vote here. It’s really easy. Just follow directions.

This Election Is Very Important

We are choosing a new Governor, Attorney General, Senator, Agriculture Commissioner,  and every seat in the national House of Representatives and State House, and many seats in the state Senate. We are also voting on important state Amendments, such as Amendment 4 which allows Florida’s 1.5 million felons an easier path to voter restoration. They have paid their time for their crime. It is intellectually invalid and voter suppression.

Other important Amendments involve citizens getting tax breaks for home ownership. And imposing gambling state wide, including eliminating Greyhound dog racing altogether. Do your homework on state Amendments here.

Local city Amendments can effect if we get a soccer stadium.

Remember, Florida is a swing state and every vote matters.

How To Request A Mail In Ballot

You may vote early in person and also by mail.

It is much easier, especially for the elderly, to vote by mail.

Help the elderly in your family request a mail-in-ballot.

It’s pretty easy online.

Here is the link for Miami-Dade.

Here is the link for Broward County.

And Palm Beach County too.

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 31st.

Postage is free. This is the easiest way to vote. Also, just because you request a mail-in ballot, you can still opt to vote in person.

It (should) go without saying you only get to vote once.

Open General Florida Elections

In  Florida, primary elections are closed, meaning only a registered Democrat can vote in a Democratic primary and a registered Republican may vote in a Republican primary. In a general election, independents can now vote as well.

#DOYOURJOB — Let’s vote. Get a friend or family member to register. Get the elderly in your family a mail-in ballot.

Don’t tell people who to vote for, that is not your job. But you can get them to vote.

Register to vote here. It’s really easy. Just follow directions.

Despite what the world believes, Miami is more than South Beach.
