Argentinian singer-songwriter Solange Sosa faced a devastating loss this past week when a fire completely destroyed her home, along with her father’s house next door. In a matter of hours, everything she had built, her home, her studio, and the years of creative work that defined her life and art, was gone. She lost her instruments, recordings, books, clothes, documents, and countless personal items that made up both her life and her artistry.
“My home, my studio, and my years of creative work disappeared in the flames,” Sosa shared. “I don’t think I will ever fully recover from this. But I’m grateful to be alive, and I’m determined to start again”.
Despite this tragedy, Sosa performed this past Tuesday with the same heart and soul that have always defined her music. The event was organized by MILFD (Man, I Love Figure Drawing), led by Pao Vales, in collaboration with Unseen Creatures, a vibrant brewery on Bird Road. The artist community came together, offering both financial support and artistic collaboration. Figure drawing enthusiasts captured Sosa and her accompanying guitarist, Fernando Farias, whose music added spiritual and sonic depth to the evening.
