Here’s some facts about the authors:

J.J. Colagrande is the author of Headz: a Trilogy, Reduce Heat Continue To Boil and Deco 2.0. He is also a full-time tenured Professor at Miami-Dade College. J.J. earned his MFA from Florida International. As a cultural contributor, he has written about Miami for almost 20 years, geez– has it been that long — first with The Miami Herald, then Miami New Times and Huffington Post. He is also the publisher of Jitney Books.

Luis Garcia was born and raised in Miami, FL. He is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He studied Fine Art and Art History at Florida International University. Then later he spent 8-1/2 years in prison, filling many, many pages, longhand. Now self-employed, he volunteers as a speaker and a teacher at rehabs all over Miami. He reads regularly at local venues, and his work has appeared in The Cafe Irreal, Caveat Lector, Conceit Magazine’s Spontaneous Spirits, Bluestem, and The Antigonish Review.

Timothy Schmand’s nonfiction about Miami has been published locally, regionally, and internationally. His fiction has appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies, beside writers as diverse as Charles Bukowski and John Updike. His short story, “The Great Deadly Malpus,” was awarded The Calvino Prize. In the late 1990s the editors of The Miami Herald Sunday Magazine, Tropic, identified him as among south Florida’s most popular writers. His novels Just Johnson: The London Delivery and The True Tales of Bad Benny Taggart published by Jitney Books, are available where ever books are sold.
