Mijo is a dark and emotionally grounded superhero comic shaped by the real issues of child abuse and human trafficking in South Florida. The story follows a man condemned to life in prison who has lost all hope. At the moment he is ready to end his life, an angel visits him and offers a second chance, granting him a power he never asked for and does not fully understand.
This comic is driven by my belief that creative work should give something back to the community. South Florida is a place I care deeply about, and through storytelling I aim to confront the realities that often remain hidden in plain sight. It is easy to become distracted by desires that offer temporary comfort, but we cannot allow those distractions to pull our attention away from the safety of our children. They carry our future, and they deserve our protection, our awareness, and our willingness to act.
Mijo is my way of reminding readers that responsibility begins close to home and that stories can spark the urgency we sometimes forget to feel. Mijo is available to purchase by clicking here.
