Psychedelic Furs Slay Miami (Review)

The Psychedelic Furs came through Miami on a balmy, slightly windy night in late May, 2023, playing the North Beach Bandshell to a nearly sold-out crowd. They were great! If you get a chance to see them in a city near you, you should.

In Miami, and probably any city they play in, the crowd was obviously older, 50-something being the average age, but oh boy, did everyone in attendance have fun.  The band did not hold back, playing about 90 minutes, with two encores.

They played an assortment of songs through their extensive catalog, the second song played was their most popular ever “Love My Way”  — it set the tone. They played all the songs you’d think they’d play, if you know the band.

Psychedelic Furs Miami Review

We spoke to 10 people and asked them a couple of questions.

  1. Have you seen the Psychedelic Furs  before?

Surprisingly, 7 out of ten said no. But they were all mostly fans.

And then we asked:

2. Are you having fun?

To which all ten said hell yeah, or something close! It was a dance party which was great. It was also a social gathering for some really old friends. People who may have not seen each other in a really long time. It will likely be like that for wherever they play. This is a really short review, and we don’t get paid anything, but we wanted to write something.

The Psychedelic Furs played the North Beach Bandshell in Miami on May 20, 2023. Tickets were $55. Beers were surprisingly cheap for Miami, two for only $10. And this was the setlist.
