The Riptide Music Festival is back for its 3rd edition. Three might be the magic number because it’s now three days long. The Ft. Lauderdale beach party, the largest music festival on the sand in South Florida, is growing in leaps and bounds. This year, the festival is tweaking the concept a little. Day One (Friday) is aimed at an older generation, with the headliner being The Jackson’s. As in, what was once the Jackson 5. That’s huge.
Riptide Music Festival Day 2 on Saturday (like last year) is going for the younger, indie audience. And the lineup is sick. Not as sick as last year with Cage the Elephant, but the lineup is deeper than last year. Day 3 offers a generational mix, sort of aimed at 40 somethings.
Riptide Music Festival tickets go on sale tomorrow. Check out their website for details. Prices definitely went up this year but it looks the like the event has grown into a full blown festival. It also appears there will only be single day tickets available for Friday. A little annoying but yet another indicator that the event has blown up into a fully grown music festival. Not bad for it’s third birthday.
Here is a day by day list of this year’s lineup.
Riptide Music Festival Day One
Friday, November 20th.
As you can see, Day One is geared towards the oldies. But hey, our Golden Girls need to rock out too.
Let’s call this day a 101.5 Lite and 102.7 The Beach vibe.
Riptide Music Festival Day Two
Saturday, December 1st.
Panic! At The Disco, Sublime With Rome, Young the Giant, Dirty Heads, Cold War Kids, Blue October, Bishop Briggs, Robert DeLong, Sir Sly, Alice Merton, Bob Moses, Dreamers, lovelytheband, The Driver Era, Two Feet, Superorganism, The Knocks Special DJ Set
As you can see Day Two is geared towards a younger crowd. We love this line-up. It’s legit.
Let’s call this day a 104.3 The Shark vibe for sure.
Riptide Music Festival Day Three
Sunday, December 2nd.
AND MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED!
As you can see Day Three is geared towards Gen Xers.
Let’s give this day to 104.3 the Shark as well.
We are happy for the Riptide Music Festival.
See you on the beach in December.
Can you imagine a better setting than that?
