Spam Allstars Celebrate 30th Anniversary with Special Performance

Do you have any memories of Spam Allstars playing?

If you are from Miami, of course you do.

For us at the Jitney, it will always be their Thursday night residency in Little Havana at Hoy Como Ayer. It was as reliable as rain in August, lasting about fifteen years.

Miami’s legendary purveyors of the “electronic descarga,” Spam Allstars, will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a special performance at ZeyZey Miami on Friday, January 31, 2025. This milestone event is a tribute to their innovative sound, blending Latin, funk, hip-hop, and electronic music into a genre-defying experience that has shaped the contemporary Miami music scene.

From their experimental beginnings as DJ Le Spam’s quirky live sets—complete with frying Spam onstage—to their rise as a renowned band, Spam Allstars have spent three decades pushing boundaries. Their dynamic performances and albums have reflected the cultural identity of a generation of Miamians.

It’s hard to believe they have been playing for thirty years.

What’s next? Will Poplife turn twenty-five??

We have all got old, says the blogger.
