Terror on the Air Is an Audio Extravaganza of Thrills and Chills

Ever since I was fifteen years old I was obsessed with old radio shows that my mom found on cassettes. The music to the sound effects. The acting. Those scripts. The cast would usually play against type. Always fun even the sponsorship spots weren’t to be fast forwarded through. Decades later I finally created a show of my own. It’s called Terror On The Air (Audio Fiction’s Original Terror). The latest episode is title “There’s Somethin’ In Them Hills”. The tagline: “And remember… keep your volume turned up… for TERROR.”

I’ve only cast known, award-winning South Florida actors, those of the stage, but also those of film and TV. I throw in both voice actors from the local dubbing world and comedians from the comedy scene in and around town. They’ve become my sort of staple of actors. In the same way Orson Wells’ Mercury Theater had his own staple of actors in which he employed in the famous slash infamous broadcast of War of the Worlds (and then most notably in Citizen Kane). I love using the same performers over and over again in wildly different roles. It’s a big part of the fun for me.

My role other than creator is that of writer, composer, director, editor, casting, sound effects, and sometimes “on air talent”. This season I portray the host who performs the introduction of each episode. And our sponsor for the season is Identity Wines Co. from a local Hialeah wine maker who left Miami to grow his grapes out in California. In the end, I fund this show all my own. And I always make sure my talents are always compensated. Some day it’ll be what they’re worth.
