The Things Lab REUSE-A-PALOOZA — Things to Do List

REUSE-A-PALOOZA is a free community event that celebrates creativity, sustainability, and community connection!

It is hosted by The Things Lab, an artist-led socially-engaged participatory project. It is a reuse center.

According to their website, “The Things Lab emphasizes creativity as a resource for resiliency and adaptability centering on three complementary aspects: the collaborative, ever-changing immersive art installation/reuse center where one determines the pricing, paying what they value items to be worth within their budget; a lending library of things that meaningfully benefits the neighboring communities; and a series of arts & community workshops and events that serve as a meeting place connecting creativity, sustainability, memory, shared knowledge and compassion.”

It’s basically like a thrift shop of really cool stuff.

The Things Lab was born out of Prelude to 2100, a Live Arts Miami event in 2022.

According to founder Susan Caraballo, “out of that project, we opened our immersive art installation that doubles as a mash-up of a pay what you value thrift store and creative reuse center earlier this year. We are now hosting our first major community event.”
