“To Meditate on the Warmest Dream” Debuts at Homework

Homework is proud to announce the opening of to meditate on the warmest dream, a thought-provoking exhibition featuring new works by Miami-based artists Roscoè B. Thické III and Matthew Forehand. This curated showcase opens Friday, January 31, 2025, at 5 PM, with a reception featuring an all-vinyl DJ set by Gabo Wabo and complimentary beverages.

The exhibition explores the intersections of memory, identity, and self-discovery. Through their deeply personal yet universally resonant works, Thické and Forehand present a meditation on the enduring connections between the past, present, and future—connections firmly anchored in Miami’s cultural, physical, and metaphysical landscape.

Roscoè B. Thické III

Known for blending traditional photography with experimental printing and framing techniques, Thické creates evocative visual narratives exploring themes of family, community, and intimacy. His images draw on the vibrant cultural fabric of Miami, reflecting both universal and deeply personal longings for connection and belonging.

Matthew Forehand

Rediscovering his Colombian heritage after relocating to Miami, Forehand’s floral paintings and prints weave themes of nostalgia, migration, and lineage. His work reflects his family’s immigration story to Miami in the 1980s, transforming personal history into a poignant exploration of identity and cultural resonance.

About the Exhibition

Through photography, experimental visuals, and collage-based paintings, Thické and Forehand invite viewers to explore the “warmest dream”—those moments, emotions, and aspirations that feel most alive within us. By turning memories into meditations, the artists transform personal stories into shared experiences, bridging the intimate and the universal.
