Tool January 18 & 19 at Hard Rock Live
I was never too big a fan of this seminal art metal band. But I caught them a couple years ago at their last Miami show. The combination of trippy visuals and precise musicianship blew me away.
Miami Folkways January 21 at Miami Beach Bandshell
This is a double rarity for South Florida. A free show and folk music. This quiet festival will feature sets by Bonnie Prince Billy, Miami Sound Choir, Inez Barlatier & Jan Sebon.
Mitski January 26 & 27 at Fillmore Miami Beach
The Fillmore has finally reopened after a couple years of renovations. This singer-songwriter will be a chill reintroduction to the familiar and missed venue.
GroundUp Music Festival February 2-4 at Miami Beach Bandshell
The three day music festival is back again at the Bandshell. Each night it will feature a headlining set by Snarky Puppy. You’ll also see performances by Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Afrocuba de Matanzas, and Gisela Joāo.
Digable Planets February 18 at Revolution Live
Although it has actually been 31 years, this seminal rap that merged jazz with rap is still paying tribute to the great 1993 record, Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time And Space). It’s been almost nearly as long since they played South Florida, last playing our neck of the woods in the mid-90’s.
Stevie Nicks February 24 at Hard Rock Live
Fleetwood Mac was one of the last classic rock bands that kept the Grim Reaper away from all their key members. But sadly a couple years ago Christine McVie passed away. Singer Stevie Nicks though is still going at 75 and singing many of her Fleetwood Mac favorites to our part of the world.
Olivia Rodrigo March 6 at Kaseya Center
The 20 year old pop phenom plays her first ever Miami show in a massive arena. She’ll play all her hits including odes to Vampires and Driver’s Licenses.
Ultra Music Festival March 22-24 Bayfront Park
The world’s preeminent electronic music fest returns to Downtown Miami for its 23rd year with a line-up that includes Afrojack, David Guetta, Tiesto, and dozens of others.
Drake March 23-24 Amerant Bank Arena
The rap mega-star brings his It’s All A Blur Tour – Big As The What? for two nights in Broward.
